Alan Stowell’s musical career began in the Orlando-area coffee houses of the 1960’s and took him to the Northeast, where he became an integral part of the folk music scene while working with musicians such as John Herald, David Bromberg, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Maria Muldaur, Frank Wakefield, Norman Blake, John Hartford, and Don McLean. In the late 1970’s, Alan moved back to Florida, where he performed with Paul Champion, Gamble Rogers, and Jim Ballew. More recently, Alan has performed at Walt Disney World, King Henry’s Feast, Sea World, Universal Studios, and at Tokyo Disney. Alan currently resides in Gainesville, Florida where he gives private instruction on the fiddle, guitar, and mandolin.
